Bearing and seal replacement on Raptor Swingarm
#1
Anyone who has knowledge on this subject please...
Can't tell from the service manual, which way do the bearings and seals go in? Mine were so destroyed that I couldn't tell when I removed them. Should the side of the part where I can read the part numbers face outwards or inwards?
Thanks,

On the bearings there are numbers on both sides so obviously it doesn't matter which
way they go. On the seals you want the numbers out. The seals are different for each
side so be sure to get the right one in the right side.

2strokeDiehard,
The factory Yamaha bearings that I ordered for the Raptor only have an identification printed on one side. The bearings have a flat metal portion on one side and are more open ended on the other side thus making it impossible to print the identification on both side.
As orderered from Riva Yamaha Swingarm diagram, the bearings (part #11) are exactly the same on each side. There is another bearing (part #15) that only exists on one side.
As far as the seals go, they are the same too (part #13). There is one extra seal (part #16) that only exists on one side.
I am thinking the flat side on the bearings goes outward since it would make it easier to press (tap) them into place using a socket. Make sense?
Luckily I have a few days to figure this out. I didn't order the two sleeves (part #14 and #20) when I ordered the rest of the parts.
