Port match your carb boots to the head?

Speaking of which, I have been thinking of going with the E-series Header pipe for my Raptor for more gains with the silencer...Does anyone think it is worth it? apprx $225 for the header.
I just like the thought of the stainless steel all the way to the canister.(shrug)

I think you are right Blueleader.....with the E-series, you are not really getting yourself into trouble grinding that lip away. Maybe an almost unnoticable amount at very low engine rpms could be lost....on the other hand, that lip MIGHT actually be a slight restriction at high rpms with your set-up. I am running a FMF P-bomb headpipe, there is no reversion ring in the entrance.

I have ground down that weld in the head pipes and I currently have both the e-series and an HMF slip on's. I think all (or maybe most) of the after market head pipes do not have that raised weld. I am considering the stainless GYTR pipe and will use either my e-series or HMF sip-on. Does the GYTR have the raised weld??

I like the low end and smooth power of the e-series with 16 discs. The HMF has a stong mid range punch but is loud. I assume that the GYTR sip-on is the same as what comes with the GYTR header (need to confirm) then any other slip-on will fit.

I went over to Yamaha at lunch and looked at the GYTR header pipe. It did not have the raised welds inside like the stock pipe but the collector part was farther back. Although I like the stainless, I am going to stick with the stock for now.

How did you do overall in the drags? What is your speed with that time? How many atv's did y'all have this weekend?
Should be getting my jet kit Monday MOOSE - hope the needles with the DJ jets improve my throttle response. The only thing left different between you and I are the headpipes (and silencers) but overall the same except the headpipe.
Still debating on the headpipe (which brand).

Made the semis in the trophy class. It ran good in the heat (High 80's) Dialed a 6.20, Best time 6.18, would have broke out but he red lighted, & ran 6.21 to 6.23 the rest of my runs. real consistant.
lost by .008 in the semi (fell asleep at the light )
Went out first round in the money.
Dialed another 6.20 in the 1st round but it droped off too a 6.27, We had identical .440 reaction times & I Lost by .005, He ran a 6.17 on a 6.15 dial in!
You got to be on the stick to win & that .07 was all it took. If your not cutting at least .450 lights & aren't within .02 of your dial in your toast!
We had about a hundred quads in 4 classes. We're expecting at least 250 quads for nationals.
Oh well I got a bunch of runs in & will run the test & tune the Friday before Nationals. I messed with tire pressure & wheelie bar height & got the launch working good. Now I got to work hard on my reaction times & figure out why I slowed down after the sun went down & I'll be ready.
I got a pic of my launch I'll send you It's kinda blurry but he tried to take a pic of me 5 times & this is the only one that shows any thing other than sand! I got to teach someone to use my camera!!
Glad you liked the pics on the CD.
