I was wondering what you all were running for cv guards on your 02 grizz's? I have OXlites on my wolverine and think they are great, yet I can't find any for the Grizz. I have seen the ones at hilifter, but don't want to pay 200+ bux for them. I would like some basic steel ones that are about 50 bux a set

or, are the plastic stockers sufficient?

links?

No, I bought the Yamaha package...but I hadn't known about ricochet's when I did. I am ordering a ricochet package for the wife's Kodiak, and probally for the son's Beartracker.

I put the oem Yamaha Aluminum A-arm guards on mine. Ricochet is a better deal but I liked the looks of the factory units and wanted genuine Yamaha. Our dealer gives us $15% off the Yamaha prices. Some of the other aftermarket guards are pretty ugly, so be careful about what you get.

mine are bone stock plastic, and i havent had a torn c.v. yet. i am wondering if anyone has? i havent read bout it from anyone, so i just figured they are doing there job. i am in the mud and **** alot, so if there is an issue of torn c.v. boots, i would love to know bout it! they seem to do pritty good at protecting them. my friend has a sportsman 500, and he and i ride together quite a bit, and he has torn them on his, but i go through the same stuff without a tear. maybe i am just lucky, or better yet, blessed, lol.

I've torn boots on my SP500 before. Usually during hunting season when I'm not on regular trails and the dreaded stick does me in. My nephew has replaced two on his 660 since November, one front one rear. He call me two weeks ago asking what to do about protecting them. I don't think much of the kevlar covers. The aluminum covers might help better than plastic, but I guess I'll find out.
