motor oil does not do fine!!!!!!!!!!!! that crap will kill your clutch...if you cant get yamalube call your dealer and ask them..the window on a blaster will fool you...put in 1/2 a quart then crank her up and ride it for a few seconds..park on level ground and check it...put in the rest of the quart...3/4 to 1 quart

Motor oil DOES do fine!

It is what is recommended by the manual too.

It does NOT kill the clutch! DIRTY oil kills a clutch.

This subject has already been beat to death in the Honda forum.

Man I didnt know there was so many ways to change oil. Lets see, no need to guess it takes 650ml or .65 liters. Since your mom threw away you manual get one of her measuring dishes from the kitchen and measure out the correct amount and dump it back in. I use one that is glass with all kinds of measurements on it. The wife still wonders what happened to it.

You can use regular motor oil 10-30 as long as it does not say energy conserving modifiers. I use Maxima 80weight because I like the feel of the clutch but Mobil 10-30 would be just fine.

JMO but.....
that little window on the side of the engine does not accurately tell the oil level if I am not mistaken.. i think i was told a while back ( on here ) not to follow that window too closely... maybe knowsalot could pay us a visit and let us know the specs and how much truth is in that little window..........

What do you mean by "not driving as good"?
The oil should simply be providing lubrication for the clutch and gears.

Please tell me you didn't dump the oil into the gas tank!

Alien660r is correct, regular motor oils for the automotive industry have friction modifiers and they are labeled energy conserving. These WILL shorten the life of your clutch, use only proper 2 stoke trans oil like Maxima. Ask your dealer if you don't believe me or call the tech line of the oil you want to use and ask them. They know what's in their oil and they will tell you the proper type of oil that they make and to use. If you want your clutch to last do it right
