Raptor is faster. Not by a lot. Put pipes on the shee......bye, bye raptor.
Theoretically speaking.......Why did yamaha not make the raptor faster stock? Why are all the big boys so close in performace from the factory. (DS650, Cannondales, Banshees and probably z400)

Thats a good question, I haven't a clue..
I am rather new to sport quads, and am just curious.. My bud just got a 01 shee, and was curious as to how they compared to the rest.. I guess I'll find out how fast they are when my z400 finally shows up.. Lets just hope he doesn't mod it before then.....

According to the March 2002 edition of ATV Action magazine the numbers for stock machines are as follows:
Top Speed: Banshee 77.7 mph, Raptor 76.9 mph, DS650 Baja 76.1 mph, Cannibal 75.1 mph, 400 EX 66.8 mph
1/8 Mile Drag: Cannibal 8.89 sec., DS650 Baja 8.98 sec., Banshee 9.19 sec., Raptor 9.28 sec., 400EX 9.66 sec.
( results are after repeated runs at El Mirage dry lake bed on a windless day according to ATV Action)[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
