I'm going to buy one, I'm not sure which just yet. I know which one you Big Bear owners choose. Tell me what you like or don't like. I like the shrode around the Eigers engine. I will be riding my kids on one or the other and heat from the engine is a concern. Does your Big Bear put out a lot of heat in normal riding conditions? Reverse is very easy to get too on the Eiger. The Big Bear handles great and 1st gear seems low enough to handle most anything. What do you Big Bear owners think? Thanks UNDECIDED

I need to ask a question. The BigBear and the Eiger are machines that are not really in the same class. The Eiger is an auto and the BigBear is the shift type. I'm sure you've looked at or considered the Kodiak. It's in the same auto class as the Eiger, has the engine shrowded, etc. Again, just wondering why the BigBear is in the running?

The Eiger is available in 5-speed or auto. I ride with 400 Big Bears and they are a great machine. They are light, reliable and handle really well. They don't heat up anymore then any other air/oil cooled machine.
I like Yamaha's build quality as well as Honda's but I'm not sure about Suzuki.....there is only one in our group and it's a King Quad and I am not struck on that. I also find the Eigers a little weird looking but that's just my opinion.

Thanks for clearing up the auto vs shifting thing for me. I didn't know that you could get the Eiger in 5 speed. Sorry about that.

The Big Bear and The Eiger come as an auto or manual shift.

THe Big Bear is only a foot shift, it doesnt come with an auto. If you want auto you get a Kodiak, which is totally different machine. Between the Big Bear and Eiger, I will say Eiger. It's sportier and I believe its lighter but dont quote me on that, and has about the same cc's.

I have the a Eiger 4x4 Automatic. I'm pretty sure the big bear is lighter (my Eiger weighs 605 pounds) but I don't know about the 5 speed versions.

I was dead set on the Kodiak and may still get one because my wife loves the Eiger. I chose Eiger based on price mostly, but I also like the Suzuki automatic a little better because the CVT belt spins continuously.

The Eiger is a great machine but I have always had Yamaha products and do think their quality is a notch above Suzuki. Just look at the plastics side by side... Big differnce.

If money were no issue, I would likely have gone Yamaha. I will confess however, after owning the Eiger for a little while, it winning me over. This is a great machine, regardless of price.

the eiger is not the combined efforts of suzuki and kawasaki. there really won't be any combince efforts, basically kawasaki will just start to sell machines using suzuki parts, with suzuki prob eventually completely taking over kawasaki. if i was you i would go with the eiger, the eiger has a dual range sub-tranny, more power, larger oil cooler, and great suspension; it feels much lighter than it really is. when it comes to sheer power output the eiger def beats the big bear. the 375 motor used in the eiger is the dr350 motor(dirtbike) that has had a big bore kit installed in it. there are a ton of aftermarket parts available for this motor.
