raptor starter clutch failure problem.,,

my starter clutch just started to spin free, and occasionally engauge, what part must i buy? Hopefully someone here will know what part usually breaks

I dont exatly understand what you are saying your starter clutch spiinning?

yes, when i hit the starter button, the starter spins, however dosen't engage the engine. I removed the little 4-bolt cover from the starter "cover" and say no gear damage there...Where would the problem be? the one-way clutch behine the magneto cover?

it's the one-way starter clutch bearing. about $155. some people that have replaced theirs say there is a cog in there that get pretty torn up while this is going on.

Don't ride it 'till it's fixed! You have debris floating around your engine NOW! Do a search under this subject!
