Ok, here's the deal. I have a 96 Warrior. I am planning on boring my motor 0.20 over with wiesco piston. A web cam at .90 lift. Heavy Duty Valve Springs. My brother did this to his motor and noticed a chattering sound after about 10 hours of use. He tore his motor down and nothing was really noticable wrong. We noticed the rod bearing on the crank was a little wore. Would this be a concern when rebuilding my motor. Should I put a new rod bearing on my crank. Any info would be great on mods or other recommendations. Sorry for the long post.

THE CHATTERING IS NORMAOL WITH A BIGGER CAM, BUT THE ROD BEARINGS ARE A DIFFERENT STORY MY WENT BAD AND MADE THE PISTON HIT THE VALVES AND BENT THEM, SCORED THE CYLINDER I HAD TO HAVE IT RESLEEVED. AND THAT COST ME $900

.90 lift is way to large.

Most you can get reliably is the .450" and not have to machine the head or rockers. The valve train is a little noisier than it would be stock, but not overly so..

Also, get a high comp piston if your going to get a cam, cams dont make power, they take it and move it around, like from the bottom end and put it in the midrange or top end. High comp pistons will gain most of it back down low.

The crank bearing has nothing to do with these mods really, if its bad its bad and will have play and make noise. give it a tugg or two when you have it apart

I have the .020 over 12:1 arias piston, .450" lift cam, titanium valve springs and have had no problems once I got it jetted right. Had them done since about 98, it hangs with 400ex's easily.
