Wow..........95mph

<< It feals like 90-95 when your going 79.1, so that must have been his "seat of the pants speedo". >>
Oh yeah, I took my shiny new Raptor out today and did a bonzai run down a gravel road. It actually took my breath away going from my wife's 400EX to this monster! It didn't even wind out all the way but it felt like a tire was out of balance because it was shaking pretty good. Felt like 90 to 95 mph to me, lol!

Check your tire pressure White347LX, they must not be balanced. You may want to even think about going up a couple of pounds of pressure, it will help out in high speed situations. I run 6 lbs. in my tires, that seems to work well for me. Smooth at top end end.

I know what you mean...I rode a guys Banshee last week that had Dyno Port pipes on it and it was geared up (doesn't make much sense to me), and it would hardly accelerate in 5th gear. Anyway, mine is bone stock and I know it is a lot faster up top. I asked the guy what the problem was when I hit 5th and he said "It's not a top end bike, it's made for low end. It probably only tops out at about 85-90mph". Ha! I wish because I know mine is quite a bit faster on top end and if that was the case I would be at about 100mph.
That's why Yamaha doesn't put speedo's on their sport quads. All of these rumors get going around and even the owners of the quads believe them.

One of the guys that I ride with has a Banshee with Toomies. His top end is 84 and change, again on pavement. The other couple of guys I ride with have Canondale FX400's and with mapping alterations they have about 1 mph or less on me. I am running a 14 tooth front sproket though. I could have reached out and pulled him back.......it was that close.
