Raptor Skid and rotor
#1
Well do to the cheap plastic swingarm skid i destroyed my rear rotor this weekend. It almost ruined the riding. Very suddend stop. Any recomendations for the skid and the rotor are welcome. Thanks in advanced.

First thing the dealer should have told you was to get ride of the stock skid plate. Look for a decent 1/4" thick skid. They all serve the same purpose. Next, RockyMountain ATV has TITAX rear rotors for raptors at 49.99. A new set of pads are recomended.

Rockymountain atv has the armadillo swingarm plate. Excellent and much cheaper than the Yamaha part. Its very strong. Like you, I learned the hard way.

I run a full GYT-R skid set-up (swing-arm, chassis, a-arms, foot guards) and they are very sturdy. They seem to be a little overpriced compared to the competition, but I got mine as a package deal from the dealership that I bought my quad from. You might want to shop around (PRM, DG, OMF, etc), but as far as quality you can't go wrong with Yamaha aftermarket.
