Does anybody know how the carbs should be set up for 6000-7000ft. I am using dyno-jet needles & jets. My set up is no lid, K&N with pro flow, White Bros. head pipe w/R-series muffler, and JE 12.1 piston.

With the piston & no lid you should call Dynojet tech assistance 1-800-992-4993.

MOOSE I guess thats what I'll have to do. Just hoping someone on the forums was running a similar set up at higher elevations. (cuts down on the fine tuning)

Try 140-142 and 142-144. Mine runs well with the 142-144 at 5000ft...but at 7000ft it starts hesitating a little.

Spoke to Dyno-Jet today they say the correct way to set up the Raptor is to leave the lid on with no holes, and cut the snorkle flaps. I would think you could free up additional HP by removing the lid & jetting accordingly. They say no.

They are full of crap. They don't know anything about their kits past leaving the lid on and cutting the flaps.

You can see my mods. I don't have the piston etc but I do run with no lid. My 150/155 works great for me up to 6000' clip in the 2nd groove. Its a bit rich but not bad. No hesitations, burps or stutters. My days ride when I'm in the mountains takes me from 4500'-almost 6000' during the day. try the 148/150 that come in the kit and go 2nd or 3rd clip position to start. I'll bet you'll be fine. Ive been thinking of stepping back to the 148/150 myself, haven't done it yet though. Might not ever. LOL

Hey wshrdskn, I increased my jetting to the 150 155 and it seems to have even more power now. Did you do any changes to the pilots?

No I have stock pilots 3 turns out. When I go to 155/160 in the mountains its stumbles a bit when your throttle is wide open and you let off to 3/4 throttle or so. There is a stumble when I do that. So I went to the 150/155. When I'm in the desert the 155/160 gives me even more power than the 150/155 setup. I haven't tried anything bigger than that but, I will this winter. I went to Colorado last summer and ran 140/145s and had no problems. Highest elevation reached according to my gps was 10,200 feet. See signature below for how mine is set up. I kept the air box cover on.
