Anyone have a raptor pipe that has been tested at Oregon <93db ?
The big gun quiet and fmf q4 are supposed to be quiet,but has anyone been checked ? I have sold my raptor but I have a freind that is looking for a pipe for his.

Raptorn, I have the LRD pipe and have not test for the sound at all. I don't really want to unless they force me to do it. I have been told by LRD that the sound db would be around 94-95. Damn close enough of the oregon law that is at 93db. Beside I hardly ever seen them to enforce it.
They would have a hard time to keep up with me.
The WB of E-serie with the silcener is louder then LRD because I used to have that before I switch over. I like the LRD alot and give you a ton of torque and broad band of power through out.

The forest service will "courtesy check" you if you want(peice of mind). I ride a banshee and just put power pros pipes with their "super quiet" silencers. I was told they would pass but had my doubts. Well, I asked for a check and they were 90db !!!!
Seems like the noise patrol is getting sneakier....you come around a corner on a access road...and there they are flagging you over!!
Anyway, I ride with the family and don't want to hassle with avoiding the cops, so when I got my pipes I made sure they were quiet ones...They are great I love em !!!! But I don't think there are many raptor quiet pipes yet. That is why I was wondering if anyone has been tested. Next time you are there see if you can get a courtesy chck and let me know what it was(The courtesy check people won't hassle you they just let you know your too loud).
How is the power with your LRD pipe ? My stolen 250R had a LRD pipe and I loved it !!! Thanks !

Ron , I agree what you are saying of the courtesy test. Sometime they don't seem to get it right. it all depending of the day, where it at, and what around you while testing the db of the bike. If you were test 3 time in different day would you get same reading, mostly like not.
Yes I know not a lot of the quite pipe for the raptor. so far what I have seen is that LRD is the quiet one compare other good brand of pipes. I could have got other pipe beside LRD, but I don't want get hassle from the forest service. far I am concern the db is way too low and it ought be around 95db.
The LRD pipe powerband is totally awsome and I can keep up the hotsetup of Banshee out on the dune while riding fast. Either I right there or slowly walking away from the banshee while my motor is stock except got a all around cam from WB.
If the noise patrol is around a corner most likely they are not going to have time to get out of the my way due that at 90% of the time I am riding real fast. They will might get run over.... LOL just a joke!! www.thepowerpros.com There website sucks. you need to call to get all the info on the different bends and styles for each model,as well as differant silencers,finishes(chrome,ceramic,bare,stainless).
Don't be in a hurry either there usually 3-4 weeks out.

Don't worry about it, just do what I do, when you see those dam Lane Co Sheriff deputies on the beach, flip it around and take off over the hills, they don't wast there time chasing you down when they can tag some sucker willing to stop for them. The fine is $ 75.00 IF they get you, my buddy got a ticket, they held up a stop sign and my buddie thought that someone had got hurt so he stoped for them and there like oh we need to do a DB check on your quad. The good thing is that when they stop you they run your VIN # on your bike to see if its stolden, which could result in a recovery for your bike..

 

I guess people just don't get it.....If your spending your money for a new pipe, why not get a quiet one and not have to deal with the hassles ??????
As I said before we ride with our kids so it isn't that easy to avoid the cops,they are getting trickier, they don't just hang out on the beach.Not to mention they(the kids) know about the noise checks, avoiding the law isn't exactly what I want to teach a 10 year old boy. Also the forrest service has stated in the past we may get some area back (or at least stop losing ground) if the majority of the people start meeting noise req's. Wouldn't that be in all riders interests ????

Get some areas back YA RIGHT!! The reason this hole noise thing started is becuse a few wealthy califorians bought houses and land by the dunes.These people are the ones complaining about the atv and made a big deal out of it pushing the forest service to act. They close more trails off this year to boot! They said they found a special mushroom that that took a million years to grow.

 

Ok just run any us Foresty approved pipe, its obvious your not looking a race pipe!
As for us loosing ground at the coast, it's not the ATV riders causing the problem, its the dam tree hugging birken stock wearing protesters causing the problem! Complaining about some dam plant they claim were running over.Whats next take away our Fire arms. Prisioners have more rights than we do! Whats next ban the 2 stroke!
