I am looking for a good set of paddles. I want paddles that are light and fast for hill drags. I am leaning on comp grooved desert mini tracks and I like the kenda gecko's. Let me know what is the hot set up!

GECKOS???!!!??? What, you want to have Blasters beating you??? (Kidding) Honestly, I think Geckos are more flash than function. Just my humble opinion.

Seriously, If you want light AND good hook-up go with some variety of 22" Haulers. You can go 8, 9 or 10 paddles. With more paddles you will hook-up better off the line but give up a goo dbit of top spee; less paddles will definately give more on the top-end because of their lower drag. You should consider the Extreme Haulers if you are really making a lot of HP.

Sorry, I have no experience with the Desert Mini Tracks although I have seen some Bomb riders talking abou them with good reports.

V PAddles are for people who ride on flat dunes with no hills to climb.

I am now 2 pennies poorer.

EXTREME HAULERS!! They rule the drag strip!!
If you want some lighter paddles they also make a drag racing tire that is very light but are also very thin. They are for drag & hill shooting only, a sharp rock would go right thru them.

I too want to try the comp cut mini tracks but I can't make my wife understand why I need them when the Sand Shark she got me are still good. I am always looking for someting to run over and slice one in half. I think the mini tracks would work good for me. For some reason I run faster drag times with the stockers compared to my Sharks. Raptor720 explained it to me once but I've slept since then. It was something about spinning them or on top of the sand, heck I can't remember. I don't think that I would like the straight paddles because of the turning thing.

I want the desert mini tracks comp grooved but they run 390 for just the rear on .125's! That is why I am asking is it worth that much money!

juice,

Thanks for the latest reply on the price for the comp mini deserts. I was planning on call STU tomorrow for pricing!

$390 does seem a bit pricey, but if these are raced in the desert where rock and other debris is being ridden over. They must hold up extremely well. I see the tire alone weighs in at 11lbs, seems to be light.

Anyone know the weights of other sand tires for comparison? Without the rim weight.

3tv,

What about the sand skate II's? I have heard a few good things about these tires, but would like to hear more. Any idea how much these tires weigh? Traction?

They are about 17 lbs with the rim. (Sorry but can't take them off to weigh without rim) I can do wheelies in sand no problem. They bite hard! They also steel top end, to much drag. Great for big hill climbs. I really like them for the stuff I have here.
