hey guys it's me again
I did some adjustments. I turned 3 screws out on the fuel/air mixture and rode it and it helped the back firing issues but it still glows red. I have 150/155 with LID on also snokle too but I have (3) 1 inches hold on the lid. I live around 2000ft. The headpipe is still very purple. My pilots are still stock. How can you guys have your headpipe little bit gold and mine is very dark purple. I tried everything. I did what Yoshi said 1 and half screw out but it did nothing at all. I was riding my Raptor and it was on night and it was glowing red the whole time. it really scares me. it makes me think that I am cooking the engine!! it glows all the way to the oil tank. I called Yoshi and they say I have to use 160/165 if I want to have the lid off but for the lid on i can use 150/155 but it still glows red and some people say that's normal because of thinner head pipe and it's not painted black like stock pipe. Do I need to get bigger pilots 25 to 27.5? Will this help my problem??
Thanks for you help. sorry for this problems
Thank you and Night,
Dusty

yea it wouldn't hurt to go pilot 27.5 to do it.
That only thing I could think of it after you describe the problem.

A glowing headpipe is a lean condition. I wound up going to 27.5's to clean up my previous head pipe glowing problem.
Thats all I have to say about that.......

I would check and see if you have an air leak of some kind....maybe one of the carb boots is torn or something. If everything is ok then I would try the larger pilots. Might as well try the 27.5's. The stock pilots are 22.5's I believe.

Strange though....I live at about 800 ft. where the air is denser (compared to 2000 ft.) and I have the stock 22.5 pilots with 3 turns out and my pipe definitely doesn't glow. Even at 1.5 turns out my pipe didn't glow and it was cool (about 55 F) when I first installed the pipe. I also have the back 2.5 inches of my lid removed completely and a 1.75 inch hole in the part of the lid that remains...which is a lot more open than yours....although I did leave the snorkel on and just trimmed the restriction.

You would think that all Raptors would not be this different.

Maybe there's a local shop that could set up your raptor for you if all else fails.

Good Luck....Hopefully the larger pilots will work.
