I have a 2003 raptor660 and when i shift from 3th through 5th i get a loud knock on the left side of the engine for a few seconds, i can pop the clutch or give it a little more gas and it will go away. it does this almost every time i drive it,and it happens every time i shift from
3rd through 5th. ps. i previously owned a 2001 warrior and it also had the same nosie but not quite as loud. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Time to visit the local dealer IMO. Shouldn't be any knocking going on. JMO

i think i know what youre hearing. got a metal skid shield on the rear end? when my chains a bit loose [or dry] it makes incredible noises as the chain moves across the teflon slide on the skid plate. lube yer chain well and maybe tighten it a bit. that'll prob fix it.
