I installed an outdoor eccesory port (cigarete lighter) in the storage box. It had a rubber cover to keep the muck out and being in the storage box added a little protection. I mounted it to the left mount for the storage box drilled a small hole in the back and ran the wire up to the battery. I coated the back of the port in liquid electrical tape to keep it from corrodeing. It works great, for a small air compressor, or a spot lite. It's a cheap mod that works great.

Great idea, I think I'll do that also even though my grizz has a 12 volt connecter. I like the idea of it being in box.

Sounds like a great idea.
Did you put a fuse on that power line?

u should add a fuse. i was thinking about adding a 4 prong trailer connecter (the kind that has the metal cover that flip down automaticly) and put an accessory plug on it then buy another plug so u can use that same outlet for a seeder, trailer lights, or what ever u choose. or wire it so that 2 connectors are wired into the tail lights and 2 to a switch then to the battery. what du u think of that?

Just to add my two cents in, I mounted a weather resistant 12V acc plug to mine, I drilled a hole right below my handle bars in the blue body work on the right side of the bike, the outlet has a weather proof spring loaded cover on it, and being up near me allows me to plug in my GPS or Cell Phone if needed.
