easyout kit i believe that what they call it.
That by drill the broken bolt and use the the thing (can't remember the name) and turn to get it out.

If all else fail take it to the bike shop or see your friend who is more mechanics inclined then you are.

if you have a dremel tool and the right blade, would it be possible to groove a slot into the broken part of the bolt and use a heavy duty slotted screwdriver to get it out? ( w/ visegrips on screwdirver if necessary???? )

i did this once on a bolt in a bicycle frame..... if the head of a hex bolt breaks off, you can grind a slot into the top of it ( effectivily making the bolt a giant flat-head screw ), when you have a deep enough slot ( you dont want to make a small slot and just strip it out worse ) you can use a large flat head screwdriver ( i used one with a 1/2 inch wide tip ) to "unscrew" the bolt. I also saw a friend of my do the same thing to his oil drain bolt on the bottom of his blaster. oh yeah be sure to wear eye protection because the sparks will be generous, cover up anything that you dont want metal shavings to get into. the blades on the dremel tool look like little minature bench grind blades, get a couple of them because you are sure to break a couple. be careful when starting the slot because if you set the dremel at too high of a speed it will dance across the top of the bolt, use a medium speed and try with a steady hand to just grind out a nice deep straight slot.

hope this helps

oh yeah, im pretty sure that they have "easy out" kits at Sears

Yeah, desracers is correct. You drill a small hole in the center of the broken bolt, then take an Easy Out bit (which is threaded backwards), and just unscrew it.

However, I kind of like the idea of grinding a slot in the bolt and just unscrewing it with a screwdriver...

Either method will work. I used an Easy Out bit when I broke the bolt off on my clutch spring cover...
