I have got a friend with a 2002 660 Griz and almost every time he went through a mud/bog hole the steam he created seemed to make his Quad sputter and lose all power. The holes were only to the top of the tires, we never came close to drowning out any of our Quads. As well he does not have any power to pull someone out when in reverse is there a limiter, if so how do you bypass it? The only mods on the Quad are 26 inch Mud Runners on cast aluminum rims which work very well. My thoughts on the sputtering is a filter skin over the airbox snorkel. Any help would be appreciated.

The skin sounds like it may work, give it a try and let the rest of us know how it works out. As far as the limiter goes, do a search and find a post by/or replied to by Silverbear. There is a link to his own page there and he has a full break down of how to do it-awesome site. He seems to have all the answers when it comes to mods, and is always helpfull. Hope this helps!

The sputtering may have been caused by steam through the intake, a water resistsnt filter skin may work.

There are hundreds of posts on sputtering and how to fix...

let us know how your "skin" idea works.
