I am having a 4inch extension put into my swing arm. My question is this what would be a good chain to use? I am also putting a Trinity pipe with the raptor being already very strong, and with the longer chain I'm afraid that its going to be bad about stretching chains. Does anyone recomend a good tough chain? or do you think that adding some length into the stock chain would work? Any advice would be appreciated!

I have heard alot of good things recently about the DID x-ring. I have never used one but they are supposed to be tough. I run an RK non-o-ring.

The best advice I can give you is "make sure" it's an ATV chain you get. All to often companies will sell you a motorcycle chain, yes, there is a difference.

You might also want to compare "tensile strengths" from web sites etc.

Thanks for the addvice. I will be sure to remember about the ATV chain, and I had also heard a few good things about the DID x-ring I may have to check it out.

I PURCHASED A 03 RAPTOR AND I AM GOING TO EXTEND THE SWING ARM BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT LENGHT TO EXTEND IT TO. I MOSTLY TRAIL RIDE AND CLIMB HILLS. SHOULD I GO WITH THE +2 OR THE +4 SWING ARM. FOR EVERYDAY RIDING WHICH LENGHT WOULD BE BETTER.

Default Raptor swing arm/ chain?

I've got a +4 swing arm and a stock motor but was concerned as well - especially after chewing up the stock spockets and chain in a hurry ! I went with Sidewinder Ti-moly all the way around and have had no problems. Call them, they gave me a much better than advertised price. Still, a tad pricey but hopefully it'll last a long time. My riding buddies swear by the DID X-ring and they very aggressively ride CR500s so I'm guessing they are plenty stong as well.
