about a week after I bought my raptor a friend of mine bought a 02 raptor also. we have about the same amount of run time on both machines because we broke in the 1st 10hrs in my back field. the problem is with his quad, is during his first sand dune trip to silver lake and he said that he hit neutral between 3rd and 4th gears. when he also put it into reverse he told me that it backfired and cut out. when he was in reverse. it sounds like it might be electrical in my opinion. but he took it to the dealership and they took it apart and told him that the clutch was fried. how could it be possible that the clutch could fried in less than 30hrs of ride time and after one trip to a riding park and one trip to the sand dunes.

Wrong oil, or loose nut behind the wheel.

02 Raptors have a reverse limiter installed. Its a saftey feature, if you like that sort of thing. As for hitting neutral between 3rd and 4th gears, thats a bit strange. Is his bike uner warrenty? Clutch cable adjusted wrong, to much feathering of the clutch, or the dealer just wants some money out of you.
