MY 02 GRIZZ MAKES ONE HELL OF A LOT OF NOISE WHEN I APPLY THE REAR BRAKES.I REALLY NOTICE IT MORE WHEN I AM GOING DOWN A HILL.
HAS ANY ONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM ? IT DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT BUT THE DEALER SAYS ITS NORMAL. IT'S LIKE A GRINDING NOISE OR METAL JAMMING

Im pretty sure that they all do this. I suppose it's because of the rear brake being shaft-mounted.

If it just started happening, it is your rear brake pads. How many miles do you have on the Grizz?

There is some rattling from the weights of the clutch when the rear brake is applied. The weights cannot keep up with the slowing momentum and they rattle in thier slides a little.

But if it just started happening, I will guarentee it is the rear brake pads. Replace them with EBC severe duty pads.....not Yamaha junk pads.

Good Luck,

Steve

i bet its the pads too!!! if you have over 50 hours on the bike, and you actually use the brakes, then its the pads. real easy to change them. get the aftermarket pads though, couse yamaha's pads suck!!!
