Wondering if anyone else has simuliar problems with their 2001 Kodiaks. I can play all day in water with no problems, but the odd time if I hit a stream at a certain speed or angle it runs rough for a few moments. Usually playing with the throttle and reving it up will do the trick, but not sure what's going on here? A freind of mine has the exact same machine with the same problem. Secondly, the other day after getting water in the belt housing, drained it, but suprized to see some oil come out with the water. Didn't like that! Again any ideas?

Steam is choking your machine. Lots of folks including myself are having to cut out our side panels. How much oil are you talking about. Your internal clutch gasket my have blown if it is a lot.

Try dielectric grease in the spark plug boot, it cured mine.

My wife's does the same thing when she hits a water hole too fast. I was assuming it was the air intake, but I will try the dielectric grease,
Thanks

I had the same problem and tried the dielectric grease and aim the arm of my spark plug upward towards the speedometer and haven't had any trouble since then. If you don't have any grease you can use a little bit of RTV gasket maker but be sure to the BLUE stuff because you don't want anything with any kind of metallic neer the spark plug or it will short out. GOOD LUCK!

Default Questions around the 2001 Kodiak

Mine would do this from time to time. Since I run the intake snorkle mod all the time now it has never sputtered. If oil came out of the tranny drain hole you have got to have a seal busted. Nothing should run out "except water".
