Pismo Beach Trip August 16-18

They say on the paper that they want it undisturbed to allow for re growth. I can understand that. My guess is without the bushes and trees its easy to stray from the trail and create new trails. JMO
FYI:
The roads from the 2nd train tracks to the 138 are still open. Just not from the tracks to Silverwood lake and the Cleghorne road (exit) to Silverwood Lake.
I've ridden from the Cleghorne exit to the staging area of the 2nd RR tracks and on over to the 138. Its ok but nowhere near as fun as the ride from Cleghorne exit to Silverwood.
They took down my trucks liscense number etc. I'm sure its on record and if my truck is there again I'm sure I'll get a ticket instead of a for your information package.

TFTB,
How was your pismo trip? My brother (eaglecollector) and myself were there. We looked around for ya. There was about a zillion people there. Did you have a red/pink/violet type colored ribbon on your whip? If so I saw you. My brother on his DS and myself were at the top of a dune watching my 11 year old son jump up over the top of that dune on my wifes blue Raptor. I saw a DS rider with the ribbon looking at us. I knodded my head up at him in hopes he might come over. Was that you?
On another note. Pismo was tore up from the floor up. The dunes were rough from all the people there. The drags were cool however, lots of fast bikes, and piped bikes. Got in my share of drags, won some lost some. Wish it weren't a 4 hour drive for me.
P.S. WHY CAN"T YOU ALCOHOLIC AZZ's PICK UP YOUR BEER BOTTLES AND TRASH? IT'S CALLED COMPETITION HILL NOT, PISMO REFUSE DISPOSAL AREA.

You got it!! Comp hill is all ways loaded with glass and trash, if we dont take care of it we will lose it. Its all fun and all but when your partying at night and watching every drunk person try to make it up the hill backwards please dont leave it there. I went week before last and rode up to comp hill Saturday morning and saw the rangers combing through the sand for the glass and debris and when my friend came up to comp hill she tore her paddle tires up from a piece of glass, she was not happy, as a matter of fact she just got there and was on her first ride and it didnt last but fifteen minutes.

Thats sad RaptorOwner.
The campfires strewn all throughout the areas below the hill and bottles scattered all about is a sad site. Some pick them up and put them in a pile. They realy need to scatter trash cans about. Especialy in that area. Most would use them, some just don't care. I hope your friend had an extra set of tires, even stock to be able to ride.

The trash is bad, really bad on Holiday weekends. 98% of it's from "young looser punks/kids in lifted trucks. They seem to beleive there's a group of sand janitors that come around daily (like their parents) to pick-up after them. I wish they'd get a friggin clue, grow up, show some respect or stop going out to the beach. Ah...wishful thinkin...

Yes Rudedog, I am going to be there this Labor Day weekend coming up in a few and I can bet anyone that the next day will be full of trash from Friday night. I dont know what it is about the weekend holidays, but most of the Comp Hill good nights are on Fridays but not on Saturday nighs. If anyone one goes, just be sure you will see lots of glass nd trash Saturday morning.

Sorry to say, I didn't make it. Too many previous obligations. Hope to make Glamis on Halloween and Four stroke wars. wshrdkn and sixsixt, anytime you want to hook up for a ride, pm me. If you want to do Cleghorne, we can use my truck for a one trip seeing how I haven't been warned yet. Unless it's posted now? Or go at night, we use a different parking area and hit to access trail head. Much safer.

We are back.
Had a great trip. Too short though. That 5-1/2 hour drive is a bit long but well worth it.

Wshrdskin: That was not us. It was packed though. We were camped near marker 4 just where you can start running the fence line. Each afternoon we brought our chairs out and watched cars get stuck in the sand. Friday was funny, there was a soft spot up the beach where I bet 15 cars got stuck. We were betting which cars would get stuck as they would pass us, better than Prime Time TV.
Had a few bears (we always bring cans) have some slings that work well so we bring it in go to the dunes to watch then take out the empties.) Glass doesn't belong near the beach. I am with you though, it isn't the guys on quads it is the kids in trucks.
