Does anybody have any thoughts/experience on how to make a Raptor steer easier? Tires, handlebars, a-arms, etc? I've noticed that other quads (400ex, Z400, etc.) seem to steer a lot easier on the trail. I'm looking for ways to make mine a better trail machine. It's basically stock, except for a 12-tooth sprocket up front (big improvement).

Clean the bushing and put new lube in the upper steering stem bracket.

If you widen the front, it should take more effort to turn it. Get a 686 and the front end stays off the ground making the sterring effort easy.

hehehe, I'm with 14 mins!

You shouldn't have more steering effort than others, dunno the problem. Maybe get on the throttle a little more. Get that back end moving around. Remember that the stock suspension setup on the rap needs to be adjusted to your riding style...

you must have something too tight!
here in OR EEEEE GON< we install steering stabilizers to SLOW DOWN the steering!
You are aware, i hope, that at least half the steering on a raptor is done with the throttle and the REAR tires!
If ya ride woods, go with stiffer tires allaround, and save the radials and wheels for the occasional dune ride.
if you use holeshots XCT like we do, you gain a little clearance and you can greatly soften yer suspension as well. it is a great combination! i'm not too keen on those radials after having two flats in one weekend!. plus you will be pleased at how the handling changes on stiffer tires. they just flat carve better....which is what ya need.
and we both have FMF pc4 with spark arrestor slip on for woods....work well, not too noisy..
let the utility quads haul the 'cold drinks and cameras' for ya! feel free to shoot me an email if ya have a questions... happy to help! ;p
