Hey!

I was wonderin how many of u do ur own jetting. Is it hard? I have been lookin into buyin Toomey's and I really don't wanna take it to my dealer and have them charge me 150$!!! The online instructions makes it sound like it won't be that hard! Thanx in advance!!

It is a peice of cake, pretty much. I have jetted all my bikes, the easiest is the baja, because it only has one carb.

The hardest is the raptor. I dont know on a blaster, but I think it only has one carb, so it should be pretty easy. Just take your time, and be patient. Dont get in a hurry or you will miss something.

I see people post it only takes me so many minutes to jet, I prefer to take my time and double check everything.

It also is good, because it will help you to learn more about your quad.

Its easy.

Bat is right in the respect of the Raptor is hard. Not realy because there are 2 carbs but, because you have to remove the plastic, gas tank etc just to get to the carbs. He's also right in that, you must take your time and double check your steps to insure you have done everything correctly.

Now that I made it sound hard.

It's realy easy.

blaster19,

I did the jetting on my blaster and ive got some things to watch out for ( just tryin to let ya know the problems i had ).

1. Be careful with the bowl screws, easy to strip as they are pretty tight.
2. Watch that oil line from the right side of the engine ( where the oil pump is ) it plugs into the right side of the carb. ITs really easy to get unplugged ( if u still use auto-inject )
3. Be sure to get those airbox and intake clamps good and tight if you remove the carb.

Just some thoughtful helpers.

I do my own. Good set of screwdrivers and right sizes or you will strip the screws. Need a good clean work area, including cleaning the bike before hand. A manual would come in handy but there are numerous schematics online that will help. The hardest part is knowing if you have it jetted right. Knowing how to read the plug is imperative. Search the web there are many good tips on reading the plugs. There is danger in running to lean to long in that you could pop a piston. Other bad things are primarily bike not running well at certian areas of the powerband or not re-assembling things right and it not running at all.
