I have adjusted the valves in April and the quad is still loud. It just bugs me that I can hear all the valve noise, I think I will check them again tonight to make sure. Anyone else have to adjust the valves more than once a summer?

2001atv, I have recently redone the top end of my 98, new piston, cam, and valve springs. I've been back into the valves to adjust 3 times already. I am confident I have the valves to the low side of the spec for clearance. The first time I adjusted them I did not do it correctly in that I did not rotate the engine around its entire range double checking the lash so they were not right. The second time I took them to the high side of the spec and they ticked. Much better than the original adjustment though. This last time. Just a couple days ago I took them to the low side of the spec. (about .0025" intake .0065 exhaust) and they improved somewhat but by no means quite. It appears to definatley be louder overall from the valves with the new cam.... perhaps the new cam profile is to blame? The original valve train ticked pretty loudly also.
