686 raptor is it reliable

in australia where i am from we are allowed up to 690cc in a 4 stroke and its unlimited in the 2 strokes i can get a 686cc kit in my raptor for pretty reasonable price i have been told it puts out 68hp is this figure about right and is the engine as reliable as stock any body done this to there raptor???

20+ hp gain with only 28cc gain? I think not. Maybe 55hp at the very most. But I guess it gets to a point where its not the quad that preforms, its the RIDER. Think about that. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

what hp do you reckon i have a mate with the same engine in a road bike they came out stock with that amount of hp i think he is genuine he builds engines for yamaha australia motorcross team and got his own dyno

Maybe that austrialian HP is different than US Hp. I know street bike engines run alot hotter than quad engines. A stock 600cc sportbike is pushing 100hp nowadays. I dont think with a stock 660 rap engine piped with a 686 kit will be pushing 70 hp. But maybe your friends rap had more mods on it than just the 686 kit. It would have to have more than just that to have 68 hp.

bikeboy- depending on how elerobate the build up is. I hope my latest 686 has 65 hp. I am doing everything to this baby. Then add for alky and a 20 shot[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] Back to the hp numbers. Very little will outrun you.
