Cops!!!

How are the cops in your area? There not real bad here except if you ride on the roads than they'll try and stop you for sure. The people you have to worry about around here is the township supervisors, man are these people d!cks.

<< How do you carry it and do you have to have a permit to have it? We have to have a pistol permit and a concealed weapons permit. >>
slowride1,
On your own property you don't have to have a permit but once you leave your area you better have a concealed carry permit which I have. The handgun you are carrying must be registered with the state if you are off your property.
With a rifle there is nothing needed, but its just to slow to get out if a wild animal would approach quickly.

My property consists of 2.45 acres and I have a permit to have it just not a concealed permit. What I meant was how do ride with it in a side holster, bookbag, saddlebag? I have thought of many ways I just dont want to get it wet or muddy.

slowride1,
I can't worry about it getting dirty so I carry a stainless steal Ruger 357 revolver in a side holster. You can do all most anything to that type of gun and it will fire as long as the barrel is not plugged up.
I need something that is quick to clean and maintain with all the dust that I ride in.

Here in Vermont you don't need a permit for either a gun or a concealed weapon.
You can litterally go to a gun shop, Purchase a gun in a matter of minutes. Load it up, put it in your jacket, and walk into your local grocery store.
Not sure why you would want to, but you could.
You hear about all these activists that want to ban the right to bare arms. In this state you are very free to own a gun, and almost everyone has them. However, we have one of the lowest, if not the lowest crime rate in the country. I know it's a small state, but I think the reason why crimes are so scarce is because the "would be" criminal knows that when he walks into a house he'll probably meet a .45 head on.
Take care.
