diesel fuel

I've never heard of the deisel fuel thing.
If any thing you might run some deicer through it. It's susposed to get rid of water.
If you drained your carbs & have good fuel in it you should be all right.
Keep changing your oil till there is no milky residue in it then change it one more time. You should be ok then.

Diesel won't clean the combustion chamber, if anything it causes bigger deposits since it won't burn clean in a gas engine.
The diesel will lube the valves and such after having water go through the engine. It won't mix with gas very well, so only put in what you can burn in one ride. Also, don't use to much since a gas engine won't run on diesel.
What I would suggest is mixing a little of Klotz Uplon fuel lube with your first tank of "dry" gas. It mixes great and will burn fine.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think he was talking about putting diesel fuel in the crank case to get the water out of it. I have heard of this, but never have done it. Its much cheaper then oil, and I don't think it would hurt anything as long as you drain it ALL out.

well i don't really know what he ment, but i've heard of people running a little karosine (sp) in the bottom end. but he said he ran 7 tanks through it, and then went back out driving. 7 tanks would take a long time to burn, don't you think? so mabey he meant in the crank case.

yes....we did this to our 96 honda 300 a few weeks ago.....my brother drowned out in a pond and sucked some water in....we had to pull about 4 miles back to the camp.....when i got home from work the next day (i work at a truck stop) i brought some diesel home.......we drained the oil out, put the drain plug back in and filled it up with about a half a quart of diesel and then the rest with oil....cranked it and let it run for about 15 minutes and then drained it again....you may have to do it a few times but the diesel seems to help get the water out faster....diesel is oil based so it won't hurt the motor (or shouldn't).....Roadkill
