Hey ya'll. I wanna get my Banshee runnin pretty a$$ quick on the ice this year. So I thought, NOS! Seeing NOS runs the best in cold weather, it would be killing 2 birds with one stone. So, where do I get it? I know the kit at trinity is like 750 bucks, but I saw a kit for a Ds650 for 600. my price range is like 500-650 bucks. I am thinking of getting it for christmas. Throw it on the next day, and start wasting everyone on the ice. The Trinity thing says it doesnt harm your motor, and I really wouldnt care if it harmed it anyways. Is there any other mods for around 600 bucks that can add 12-20 hp? I dont really have much more I can mod on this thing.

Thanks for whoever replies

NICK

Who in their right mind said N2O runs best in cold weather? They obviously never messed with the ****. You must maintain a certain bottle pressure in order to keep the flow up. In cool temps, you must run a bottle blanket to build up the bottle temp. You will need to add about $150 for the blanket and relays not to mention you are adding weight. If the temp changes, you can lean out the system and melt a piston.

N2O doesn't harm a engine that is built to hold it. Adding it to a stock banshee crank creates a handgrenade.

I will never own a NX kit. I had a friend that put a brand new NX system on their truck and upon purging the system the first time, the N2O selinoid stuck open and almost ruined his engine. I have heard of this happening to others also. I am looking at a NOS kit or just building my own.

pretty much all the companys will have solenoid problems out of the box...its kind of a luck of the draw type thing...I have seen out of the box problems with NOS as well. However, I dont think Nitrous is the answer you are looking for in the winter, It would be next to impossible to keep your bottle pressure up where it needs to be (900 psi) and I doubt that an ATV could produce the power to operate a bottle warmer. Now if you were to have a vehicle nearby that you could warm the bottle in you might have a chance, otherwise I would try and investigate other means of adding power...wich would also be one that doesn't run out halfway through a pass....very fustrating when this happens in the finals and you just barely loose as you sputter and pop your way down the track LOL

NX makes the biggest hit when the power comes on. Their kits produce more HP than the other companies, at least for car racing that is how it goes. That has been my experience with mustangs and camaros. As to their soleniods, I can't comment on them. Never had problems with them.

What? If you've run into solenoid problems before then something's wrong. I've only seen one to bad in the 12 years I've been around the stuff and it was just the coil grounding out on a Compucar fuel solenoid, they replaced it free of charge. Even NOS, who I've had the worst luck with as far as power production goes, backs up their product pretty good. You are 100% correct about nitrous in the winter, a bottle warmer would be a requirement on any motorcycle/atv application I'd think.

yes of course they stand behind their product..I was just implying that you can't say that NX sucks and I wont buy it solely because my friend had a new solenoid stick on him...unless they didnt stand behind their product. As for NX making more power than others? that doesnt make much sense to me...if so why would most of the big guys be running NOS or Compucar?

Suppossedly, in the street racing scene anyway, The off the shelf NX kits get the closest to their advertised HP. Say you have a NOS 150 kit and an NX 150 Kit. With the NOS kit you may only get 135-140hp. With the NX kit you may get 150-155. This has just been our experience though, there is no way I can knock NOS, they have a following like Jesus almost

Speaking of big time racers running NX... if you look closely at some Pro Mod nitrous cars you'll see they may have NOS bottles, solenoids and a bunch of huge NOS stickers all over their car but actually be using NX fogger nozzles at the intake. It's kind of funny, but they have to advertise NOS for the sponsorship and run NX nozzles (which is where the power is) to win.
