OK
I FINALLY found a motor that I believe I can get for a good deal.
It's out of a Honda streetbike but the owner thinks that the engine is from a road race bike. Its a 750 and IS a four cylinder. The owner says that the previous owner told him that the engine made close to 100HP but never had it tested to confirm it.
OK
I know that I got alot of flack for wanting to use a Blaster frame before, so I have decided to take you guys advise and go with a bigger frame. I will use a Warrior or Banshee frame and MIGHT consider the 250X if I can't find the others.
The question is this.
Using this engine, which frame would be easier to make work with it? I have the tools needed to make the change and the materials as well. I also have a bit of money to play with if any of you know what mods work better with this engine. I know that this is an ATV website, but everyone refuses to answer my questions in the streetbike forums because I am using an ATV frame.
Thanks,
SirClip

You are just gonna have to get out the tape measure & see what looks best.
Rember the hardest part of an engine swap is getting the sprockets to line up.

Glad your dumping the blaster frame!!

Yes. I got to asking around and you guys are the ones who made me realize the Blasters shortcomings when its being powered by a 100HP motor. I need to know if this engine will fit into a Warrior or Banshee frame. Thats what i really need to know right now. I will also need to know exactly what this engine is. I am suspicious about all the previous owner talk. It has a side cover with the Honda logo on it on each side of the engine instead of just one side and is a V4 instead of an inline configuration
Thanks,
SirClip

If it is a V4, and is Chain driven,it is probably from a Interceptor. If it is "shaft driven" it is probably out of a V45 Magna/Sabre.

I do not think you will be able to get the V4 engine in a quad frame, the Honda V4's are at 90 degree's and take up ALOT of room. Your best bet for a engine is to get a In-line four, perferably a 600cc.

I have seen a couple successful project quads with a Warrior/Banshee frames with the In-line four 600cc engine. I have also seen a LT500 with a R1 engine, but the guy had PLENTY of cash and had it done.

ward,
I tried. Really I did.

He has a similar topic in the Honda forum. When i asked for him to post the case numbers, he posted numbers to the RC30 engine which was a works engine that was hand built by the Honda Racing Team. It was only sold to the public for one model year and had a ton of titanium parts inside of it. Only a few hundred were even distributed.

There is no way that this guy found this engine in a junkyard. That thing would bring thousands of dollars regardless of condition and any owner of the bike, whether it was wrecked or not, would have known that and they wouldn't have sold it for parts.

SirClip is just talking smack now. My money is on the fact that he owns an ATC110 [Not that there's anything wrong with that]

I didn't make those numbers up!!!!
I just saw the Honda post. This is crazy!! Thousands of dollars? Are you serious? The guy just had the whole engine sitting there with all the elctrical stuff sitting on top of it. It was in the corner of his shop which has a dirtfloor. The engine had been there a long time because there was about an inch of dust on it. he had bought it from another guy. he was going to put the engine in a sand rail buggy.
I am going to do some checking into this engine and probally put it on e-bay or something. This would give me the money to really build something nice. Maybe the CBR engine you were talking about and put it in a Raptor frame or something that's newer. You made my day. Thanks for the info.

Those numbers were real?? I would double check them before you get all excited, which appears to be too late...LOL I still say that you are bluffing.

what are the odds of him getting those numbers to match? the magna was chain driven as well. i had a '94 and it would scream. the interceptor at that time had the exact same engine but with a different degree crank shaft. the first generation of magnas could have been shaft though. not sure.
