So this is the hottest cam out right now, short of a custom grind, right?

I do not own a part of CRAYCRAFT MOTOR WORKS or work for them. The shop is in arkansas and Bob does the rest in Aledo. It is the attention to detail that is going to move them to the top. IMO you will not build a faster raptor that what i have right now. (all motor, no alky or NOS) I believe that improvements from here on out will come in feet and not quad lengths. CRAYCRAFT MOTOR WORKS is new to this atv field but all they have been building for the last 30 years is racing cyclinder heads. It is a little like curtis sparks cause only jerry ports and polishes the head. I get to try out some different things and Bob comes to my house to test on my property. They are working on 2 or 3 projects that should make my raptor look slow.

I am not a distributor for HOT Cams or any one else. It is just a hobby and if i can help somebody out i will. I just want to have fun.

I do not have the Stage 2, but I do have the Stage 1 Hotcam and love it as well. I don't know about the durability of these cams, but they sure do perform!! I am very happy with it. Another great thing about these cams are, they are brand new cams, not re-worked; therefor there is no core charge with them.

Here ya go GregV:HOTCAMS

If you have good power now a stage 2 will work great. It does not fall flat like the other cams. I could hold 3rd thru the 660 if needed. (14 front sprocket) estmated sppeed in the 660 was mid 70's

GregV,
don't forget that you are running lower compression on pump gas and 14mins is at 13.4:1 with high octane race gas. Your cam may be the way to go with your current setup.

Can you "over" cam your motor? I mean say your porting isn't up to snuff what would it do? Or if you stuck this cam in a stock headed Raptor would it slow you down or would you just not get the full potential?

Sorry for all the Qs?

Yes, you can overcam a motor easily. One possibility is it might run like crap. In a motor, it is all about the combo, not just one individual part. You need added flow from your heads to take advantage of the higher rpms that the cam will make power at. It all has to fit together, like a puzzle when its done. There are many other things too but the point is you can overcam a motor and to take full advantage of any cam the rest of your combo needs to match it or work with it.
