I am about to get a pipe for my raptor and have narrowed the choices down to two. Anybody got any suggestions between the yoshi pro slip-on and the gyt-r slip-on on a stock bike with a K&N.

Between those two, go with the Yoshi but you will not be able to up grade to their head pipe later on if you want without getting a whole new system.

know a guy with a gtyr, all it does is make his raptor louder than my stock one. mine is stock and we run neck and neck, regardless of the rider.

did i mention that the pipe was REALLY loud and annoying?!

Maddog,

My friend had the same result with his GYT-R in the beginning.

Tell your friend to buy a Pro Design flange and foam filter. Then tell him to remove the lid and jet up. I think my friend is 160-165.

Then tell him to wait at the end of the trail head, because he will roast you with the proper setup.

When we did this to my friend's quad, the mechanic and I had a run on the machine before we let our friend jump on it. His response was 'the difference is stunning'.

The Raptor is extremely choked up. When you open it up you get major results.

Something is up w your buddy's Rap if there were no results. My buddy got his GYTR pipe while mine was still stock, and he would pull on me something fierce.

That being said, before he got the pipe I was taking him on the track, after he got the pipe... he would pull on me coming out of turns and taking off. NO jetting, no air mods.

I have a full GYT-R system on my Raptor along with a K&N filter, jet kit, and hot cam. The GYT-R system definitely added power, as far as I'm concerned it works. Plus, I like the fact that this pipe is backed by my Yamaha dealer. Latest issue of Dirtwheels says that this pipe does add power.
