2000 GMC Yukon 5.3 V8, 3.78 gears, towing package, (K&N soon to have Hypertech programmer), 21 ft Thor Tahoe TB. Trailer weight normally around 8K lbs. Truck pulls fine at sea level but struggles at altitude. Engine would have enough power if it had the alison 5 speed transmition you can get in the trucks. The 4 sp it comes with is geared wrong. Second gear can take you from 20 mph to 75 mph. That said the engine will pull 4000 - 5000 RPM on long hill climbs in hot weather all day long without overheading the engine or transmision.

A nice thing about the Yukon is that the standard suspention will pump itself up as you drive and even out the load of the traler. So after a mile or 2 the truck is level. I constantly see people pulling into camp with their trucks looking like they are doing a wheelie with similar sized loads.

If I bought an SUV again the 2003 suburban 2500 with the 6L and the four wheel steering.

For maximimum power my friend has a GMC crew cab short bed 2500 HD with the 8.1 gas and the 5 sp alison transmition. That truck hauls. We went hunting last year with a 26ft terry trailer with a kodiak 400 and 2 sportsman HOs (one in the trailer and one in the truck bed), 100 gals water, a 5500 watt generator and 25 gal gas. I think the total trailer + quad weight was 12 - 13K. He pulled a hill at 3000 - 4000 ft altitude as fast as he wanted to. and he drives pretty fast. At the top we stoped to take a leak and the heads wear glowing bright red.

My '96 Ford Ranger XLT. Yea, the ole girl has a big bad 2.3 with 140 cubes and a 5 speed manual. Modifications include, WIX oil filter, K&N air filter, removed mudflaps, and a works shocks bumper sticker. The bumper sticker alone made it feel faster. Sad thing is my quad BARELY fits in the back of my truck. I mean like I have about 3 inches I can rock it back and forth and about 1 inch of clearance from either back tire. I need a bigger truck.

I have a 4x8 trailer that I used to pull with my old 83 S-15 4x4. I sold the truck back to my dad and he is totally restoring it from the frame up. So I went and bought a hitch for my car, A Plymouth Neon, but I have yet to install it because the aftermarket exhaust tailpipe is in the way.

Before you guys start ripping on me for pulling my quad with a Neon(DOHC 5-speed stock 150hp), it is a little modified, but looks stock.
Here are a few of my mods: Mopar performace PCM, Prothane motor mount inserts, CAI with K&N filter, 55mm throttle body, EGR block off kit, Kirk long tube header, 2.5 inch exhaust back to Dynomax muffler, B&M short shifter with modified shifter cables, front and rear strut tower braces, and Bosch wires and plugs.

Winter projects are: porting and polishing spare head and intake, underdrive pulley, flowmaster 80-series dual exit muffler.

When the car was stock I ran a 16.01@85mph
Last time at track ran a 15.21@90mph with a 2.369ft time and a .521 r/t with 185/65/14 weenie tires.
205/50/15 setting in basement waitin for next year.

Ever do 130mph in a Neon?

I just picked up a '98 Plymouth Neon for $2000 it has a dent in the driver side front fender. It's got that DOHC 2.0L w/ 5 sp manual they run good I've had it up to 100 and that's pretty much all it's got but it accels fast in the first 3 gears after that it doesn't have much.

What are common places to find an oil leak on these, because this one leaks. I have already replaced the sending unit. My next thought is a cam seal.

Good price for the car. I paid $3900 for mine with 62,xxx miles on it and it was a one owner with all kind of receipts.

One place that leaks is cam position sensor, it is a rubber green o-ring that takes 5 minutes to replace.

The valve pan cover on the DOHC are hard to seal back up once it it removed.

drivers side axle seals in transmission tend to be a problem.

If you want to modify your Neon email me and could send some info to you. The Cold air induction I made myself and the engine responds alot better with this done. The factory exhaust is 2 1/4 inch diameter so I would get a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler. It gives a nice exhaust sound. The DOHC motor has lots of potential.
