friend has a 99 blaster he just got last weekend, a few days later it started to smoke, then smoke more everytime he rides it, now it's a constant white and blue-ish smoke when he gives it gas.He changed the crankcase oil, added YAMALUBE to the oil injector and cleaned the air filter and put in a new plug but still it smokes. He is the 3rd owner and it's never been rebuilt, all stock. It Didn't smoke when he got it, just a few days later and now it's this. The only place he rode it was up and down his driveway since he's had it.It starts on the first kick everytime, and still feels as fast as it did before when he got it last week, it's still pretty quick for a stock machine. So what's the deal? what's up with the smoke has this ever happened to anyone? what could it possibly be? I see no leaking gaskets, etc. no air leaks.

This reminds me of the time Jon B. Walterson flew his very first kite.

Dude, every 2 stroke smokes. let it smoke I run Yamalube in my YZ and it smokes. It's a good sign if a 2 stroke is smoking because you will know that it's getting pleanty oil.

I had a similar problem with my Suzuki. I baby my two stroke which isn't real good for them. When the pipe gets hot enough, it burns the oil out. I'm not sure if this is your problem or not. What color is the plug? Contrary to other posts, if a two stroke is running correctly, it shouldn't smoke. After I burn the oil out, my Lt500 has no smoke; the plug is milk chocolate brown.

try running it hard to clean it out, 2 strokes get loaded up if your not on the pipe and that causes smoking.

Like these guys said all two strokes smoke. But the thing could just be carboned up because you have only rode up and down a driveway. It needs to get its guts revved out and like these guys said the oil will burn off, check to see if its jetted to rich. But first i would take it for a rip up the road and rev the fugger out to see if its just a lil carboned up.

the owner(b4 me) told me to run 32:1 to break in the engine when i first bought it....and i did and it smoked like heck...since the top end hasnt been rebuilt, what is the mix of gas that he is using?? i use a 50:1 on my yz, and it still smokes a little...right now i am re-building the top end, so i am going to have to use the 32:1 again to break it in...check which mix of gasil he is using...also, i dont know if it matters alot, but the octane of the gas, i can only use the Premium in my bike...

like everybody said, it's gonna smoke! check plug and compression, but you're probabally just not riding it hard enough, my blaster smokes like a freight train when i'm babying it, but when i get back on the pipe, it cleans out.l
