i beleave it is not too hard to clear a truck on a 4x4 quad, if your suspencion is good. i have gotten mine about 28 ft long, and a height of about 6 to 8 ft up. i have pics of a few jumps, but none while at my highest( hard to time it for the camaraman, lol) only 1 or 2 pics show how far i am realy going thought. it has never damaged my quad in any way jumping it.

my pictures

Ive seen a 2000 kodiak bend an axle by doing a 2 1/2 foot jump, so i wouldnt try it. Dirtwheels and all magazines all jump utils but then they say in arcticles that they have room fulls of bent axles.

Just becasue there jumping them, doesnt mean that they were designed to be jumped.

I was talking to some guys in my lab class about jumping atvs and they were telling me all their stories. Then I said " Yeah, I like having a sport ATV" and they said "Yah ive always wanted to ride one of those" I was like...... uhhhhhh..... you were jumping a utility quad? "yeah, its all my family and friends have" This was the general consenus with all the guys in my lab group. Im in the heart of serious mudding country so im in the minority.

you guys just be careful. there was a guy here that was jumping his 4x4 with the front wheels engaged. well when he made the jump he landed on the front wheels first and they couldn't turn fast enough and he flipped and died. later.

I wish I had some way to put a short vieo clip up for you guys,in '95,me and 2 other guys were at Silver Lake,MI,and spent the last day just looking for some jump spots for the video camera. We ended up finding a nice little dune with an almost vertical lip on it,perfect for launching. We all did a couple of runs,I was getting ribbed for having my "unsporty" Wolverine (first year out,no one really knew their potential) so last jump I go a little pissed, and hit that lip in 4th wide open, someone up there was smiling on me, I went sailing WAY higher than I ever imagined, and landed almost perfect,no bounce or bottoming!! It must have been pretty impressive, watching the video later, I could hear several "holy sh!!!t's" in the background, and it looked pretty scarry, too! But,right after I jumped,a 38 yr old woman in a modded pilot came out of nowhere, hit the lip,and proceeded to sail about 9-11 ft. in the air for about 30 feet or more, landed nose first, spun it around and sat there grinning at us! Then her boyfriend in a modded 250R showed up and also pulled off some nice jumps, off topic,I know, but it was all part of the story, and we all ended up hanging around the rest of our stay at the dunes.

Well I have this little ditch thing that I like to jump in my front pasture coming from the road...ITS PERFECT, because it preloads your suspension when u go into the ditch and then come out automatically....and all you have to do is gas it at the end....but Ive gotten about 3ft vertical, by about 12 in length going down a lil slope thing....I think thats pretty good for 675 pound '04 Big Bear 400....I dont like anything bigger because I'm scared of bending the chassis or somethng like that
