Hi,
I have a '02 Warrior and I have had it since January. I was riding it the other day, and I turned it off to go do something, when I came back, it started fine and I started to hit the gas, and it just kinda puttered, and backfired, and wouldn't do sh*t. I thought it might be a little cold, so I warmed it up a little bit, half choke, it wasnt that cold but it was cool, and that didnt do it. I let it warm up for like 5 minutes and it still did it, I am clueless here, would someone help me so that I dont have to take it to the shop.
Thanks in advance,
Josh

It sounds like the safety switch on the clutch lever. It is actually the one for the E-brake that makes it sputter. Make sure the switch is not hanging up. Push the piece where the e-brake locks to make sure it is fully unlocked.
I have an '03 and removed all that e-brake stuff from my quad. I replaced it with an aftermarket lever and perch for a CR. Thay are better for smaller hands and give an easier pull ratio. If you disconnect the switch for the e-brake just silicone and tape the end. The clutch switch will have male and female ends when you disconnect the safety switch. You have to plug these together or it will stall when you put it in reverse. Remove the e-brake cable and install a block off plate on the caliper and it really cleans up all that mess.

Thanks mascman! Have an '02 and have been bitten by that emergency brake system more than once. Wasn't sure how to go about getting rid of it, or if I even could.
Helpful info, for sure!

Oh I hate E brake It got me once, I put pipes on my quad rejetting it got to the trail and it would'nt rev, it took me about 10 mins to figure it out! I got home and removed all the garbage and throw it in the trash and whats even funnier is that the E brake never work probably since the day I bought it new Thanks Yamaha.

Warrior Putters !!!

I must have brain lock.

When I saw Warrior Putters my first thought in my head was someone went and made a little warrior on the putting end of the club and was going to show how they are really into quads on the golf course.

Interesting idea.

Mascman...

Will just any CR perch and clutch lever do? Or does it need to be one in particular? Was looking at the Works Connection Pro-perch, but wanted to make sure there wasn't some reason that it wouldn't work. There seem to be so many CR types to choose from. Got my block off plate lined up, that seemed pretty straightforward, but want to make sure about the perch and lever.

Thanks for your help.

Dunescreaminmama- I'm sure that would work for you. As long as the cable end fits into the lever and you can properly adjust the clutch you are set.
Not much more to it than that...just make sure you adjust your clutch so you don't burn it up.
