7 plates is very restrictive. I had 8 in my supertrapped wolverine and it was more restrictive than the stock pipe but it was quieter which is what I wanted. I don't know what jet size he should be run'n but something doesn't sound right. Is he running larger tires?, will it rev out in lower gears? Did he do a plug check?

I am grabbing straws here but the different make of the tires could possibly be the problem. They might say they are the same height on the sidewall but they could actually have a different circumference. You might want to check that. He could be tearing up his differentials. Plus a 26" tire is pretty tall for a Wolv. It already lacks low end power and he just took it all away when he put tall tires on. That is just my 2 cents though.

Yeah, the gian tires are murdering you. Not only do they raise your gear ratios but they have a larger mass and waste more power being turned. If your gonna have tires that big i say get a high compression piston and maybe a torque stuffer (dont they hurt top end?).
Ohhh.. and forgot something, if you made your pipe more restrictive dont you need to lean it out? look at your plug and see if its all black, also you can look at the inside of your tail pipe and see if its a rich rich black. That means rich. Which would cause your loss of top end.
