i want to build a go-kart with a banshee engine in it. with suspension. does anyone know where i can get plans on a frame or has anyone else that has done a similar project. i would not want it to be too large, but rugged enough to handle some abuse.
and while we're on the subject what would a banshee engine cost? used or new or used and modded.
last year i built a harley. i need something to do this winter.

I think I saw a banshee motor for about 2,100 at east coast atv.

Sounds like a fun project.

<< I personaly was scared of it ! you punch it and it would go in every direction imaginanable ... >>

Sounds like fun to me.

It shouldn't be hard to rig up a linkage style hand sifter on it.
The hardest thing I can see is keeping the front end on the ground. Is this cart going to be a rear or mid engine?

If you need some shocks let me know I still have my stock ones off my Raptor.

Do a search for shifter karts. These are road racing Karts that we used to use, it will give you an idea as to how the linkage for the shifter is run as they used MX motors. they do not have much suspension some none but you could look at a used pilot or odasy for that. One of the best ideas that I have seen for rear suspension is on the new Bomb. outlander is it? the new 400?

i was going to use a type of formula 1 paddle shifter on the steering wheel. one side for shifting up and one side for down. it will surely be rear engine. should make wheelies easy.lol. i just have to make sure the frame is strong enough.
those shocks should work great.

I've still got your address I think.
How do those paddle shifters work, cables or what?

on f-1 cars they are all computerized, but these would be cable.
i think buying just a complete banshee and using parts would be the way to go. i could use the cdi box and other things stright off that. i found one here for $2000. the only thing you don't know is just how many times it's been bore and possibly abused, as apposed to buying a new one.

I think you would like something like this. Check out The Edge...they are located in Australia. Their buggys are high performance off road models that you can get plans for. They could help with the shifter linkage and stuff.
