YZ 490 help now!!! Blaster content
#1
I have this motor sitting in a blaster frame, wondering what i can do for the exhaust.. if i can take the flange off the 490 and weld it on the blaster pipe or is there somewhere i can go to get a custom fitted pipe. I was also wondering if anyone else has done this and if so please tell me about it.

Do I smell a bent frame? yeah.. But putting the blaster pipe on there would just ruin the performance. Try to get a welding shop to make the pipe fit from the Yz.. but it sounds like suicide to me. lol.. have fun!

Dang it! You beat me to it. I have had the 490/blaster idea and parts, just haven't put it together. One reason I haven't done it was the expense of the exhaust system. The pipe from the 490 won't fit the blaster frame, and the blaster pipe will kill power (you wouldn't be any better off than you were with the blaster motor). I was going to have FTZ custom build my pipe, but the price changed my mind.
This looked like the easiest swap every possible. Did you run into problems? I wish you luck, and hope you are still alive after your first ride to tell us about it!

You have to MAKE the yz pipe fit. As long as your expansion chamber remains intact and about as far as its suposed to be from the engine your alright. Other than that chop, bend, dent, do something lol... I almost bought a YZ490 blaster before I got my warrior. Woulda had a ball too but the guy told my parents it was insane fast and setup for pure drag racing.
