I just got a '01 Raptor (Yep, I know it's going to blow up, but I got one big heck of a deal when I bought it) and I notice that when it's running the radiator fan dosen't come on. Is it supposed to? So far I've just putted around the house, and in a few weeks I'm going with a big group up to the Oregon dunes, so I don't want to be riding and find out that it's not cooling and blow my motor. Also, the gas vent line coming out of the gas tank, by the handlebar stem: Is that supposed to leak gas? It makes absolutely no sense to me to put a vent hose off of the tank just hanging down leaking gas when you have the gas cap vent hose to do the job for you... Could I disconnect this hose and fill the hole? Any help would be great.

Oh, also, I'm wondering if any of you have used the IMS 5.5 gal desert tank. Do you have to cut your plastic that comes around the gas tank, and how many hours can you ride with it? How many hours can you get out of a stock tank?

Thanks!

Hey guys thanks for the replys. By blowing up I meant the tranny. I've heard that the '01 Raptor trannys go out, but we'll see. I'll be going to Spinreel, which is my favorite spot to ride. I don't know when I'm going yet, but hopefully sometime this month.

The facilities Raptor fan doesn't come on unless its really slow going when the temperature is on high outside.

The IMS tank of 5.5 gallon that I have and you pretty much almost run all day riding.

At the dune of Oregon from Spinreel to Horsefall you can make about 3 round trips on a single tank compare 1.75 time on stock.

Yes you would have to cut the plastic. go see my profile and click my little web site and you will see my bike and you will get the idea of the plastic what would look like after you put on IMS tank on it.

You don't want to plug the hole in your gas cap. It is a vent with a one way relief valve. If it gets warm out your fuel will expand. If you plug the hole your tank might blow up before the tranny does.
