I just got my 03 Raptor. The dealer put a GYT-R Carbon Fiber pipe on it. Otherwise it is stock. What should I do first to wake it up? I would like to do something to the airbox and filter. I would also like to rejet it. Any suggestions?

 

Get the pro flow of K&N fliter kit, plus outerwear to cover the fliter. You are going to need to rejet the carb since you got the pipe and if you get the proflow kit.

I got some High lifters for around $70 for the 1 1/2".
They made a big diffrence in the dunes!!

They wern't quite a bolt on I had to grind notches to clear the **** on the hub, but it was no big deal.

1st thing i would spend money on is a new skid plate.

Good question though,,,,ive just about got the 'stock' run out of mine,,,and looking to add some stuff soon.

 

No one else thinks K&N is a bunch of overpriced hype? If you got a pipe you need to rejet anywho. There is tons of info on raptor mods and the results in the forums, just run a search.

 

I think K&Ns are worth the dough... I second the Pro-Flow kit...

I bought the whole GYT-R skid package and am very satisfied with it... a steering damper will also help loads...

 

I think K&N are good filters. Certainly better than the stocker. I also prefer the K&N for ease of cleaning etc. Foam filters are messy. JM personal opinion.

 

Its the price that kills me, I know good and darn well that cloth didnt cost that much. All you would really have to do to increase flow is get a bigger filter with way more surface area.

 

I agree with that. Everything recreation is over priced. In this case your paying for the technology. Its a good design, designed to flow more air and filter just as good as foam. But even still, it's over priced.
