Would you buy a Yamaha Breeze?
#1
I have been looking at the entry level 4 wheelers for several years, and I am ready to buy one. I like the Suzuki 80 but I discovered the Yamaha Breeze just recently. It has reverse, and floor boards, 4 stroke (quiet) and a headlight and tailight. The Suzuki does not have any of these features. Has anyone had a Breeze? How do you like it? Is it a good entry level quad and what are the Pro's and Con's?

My nice has one and it is a very reliable quad though not much in the way of fun. You may want to look at the Suzuki LT160 it is almost the same thing but has a manual tranny and looks a litter beter IMO. Also you did not say how old you were? If you fit you may want to look at the Honda 250EX it is mucher more fun than either has and auto clutch and a good suspension and will grow with you as you progress.
I think the breeze and the lt are around 2800 and the 250ex is 3500 or so. Also you can add floor boards to the 250ex for safety and most dealers will do this for free.
My daughter is on the small side for 12 years old and she has no trouble with the 250ex my son is 10 also small and rides the 250ex and his cousions blaster although that is a pretty fast quad and IMO is to much for a beginner plus no reverse man clutch and kick start ruin a lot of the fun for play riding.

Stick with the Breeze. I bought one for my daughter a year ago. 8 years old at the time. This thing will move and except for deep mud will go on just about any trail. Couldn't be happier with it.

I already own a Honda 250ex and it is too much for a beginner. I need something for a beginner (6 years old) and I wonder if the Breeze is something she could grow into, it seems pretty easy to ride and control.

4WheelRider,
I think it would be great quad for someone that age.
It would be a much better choice than I see from some of the other imports.
Its also a good choice when you have someone over that has no riding skills at all.
Yamaha has been making the Breeze for many years and it should be pretty much trouble free unless abused.

For that age it is a great quad like I said very reliable, it is not a sport quad nor is it very sporty looking but they are great fun.
My son has an lt80 and rides the wheels of of it so that is also a good unit but the breeze has reverse and your daughter will grow with it for a while.

Get the Breeze! I have one for my son which is 6 now and we bought it new late 2000 and its a 2001 model and that thing will run all day long and still have no problems to this day. Just keep the oil changed regular and the valves adjusted and you would not believe how reliable that thing is until you own one. I love that thing and when you want something just to cruise its it. My son keeps up with us at a good pace when we ride thru the dunes and mountain trails and man it is really a good safe quad for him.
And the reverse and forward gears are perfect for him to get started, its cool watching them ride and if they want, just put it in reverse and back up.
