yamaha realy neads to biuld a 400-440cc class quad. they should put the 426 in a good frame and that thing will rock. If i had a frame i would take the motor write out of my bike and put it in a quad in a heart beat.

 

Yamaha bumped the YZ426F to a 450 for 2003.

Even the yz400 would kick butt. the 660 and the new 450 are just two different breeds.

almost like the honda 450 and the 400EX are not in the same department.

Actually, if they put eny motor in it would be the wr450 and not the yz, the yz only has 4 gears, which wont work good in an all around sport quad...

 

a 400 banshee 2 stroke would be nice 2

 

A new high tech frame with an R5 (2x RZ250 motors stuck together, 90hp, low emissions with cat convertor and power valve) motor in it would rock... not gonna happen though. I wouldnt be at all supprised if they replaced they made a new quad with a 450 in it. They wont kill the warrior, it is soooo well suited to its job, as is ithe banshee. They would never kill either one. Warrior is a tank that owns in the woods and the banshee is the ultimate dune/drag racing machine.

 

ya i know that it is a 450 now. they lightend all kinds of crap in the motor to make it light. I know someone that has one and my 426 is faster. Other 426s are faster than them 450s too. The 426 is a better engine any ways.

 

All I know is that the 660 would be alot better if it was built with the 426/450 technology!! Thats what Yamaha should do [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Really though I agree with you, the 426 motor would be pretty cool in a quad........
