Thinkin about selling my warrior and gettin a 2 stroke. I've narrowed it to either the Banshee or the 250r. I realy can't decide which one to buy, well which one is a better trail rider? better suspension? performance? which one would any of you reccomend. Any info appreciated, thanks

banshee is more of a wide open quad with lots of top end power
great for dunes and draging
a 250r is more of a mx quad
with either one you should be happy

 

If the sun would rise and gift you a new "stock" 250r...the 250r is a better trail rider with only slightly better suspension over the stock Banshee (with the right rider)....funny how the stock 250r is made/thought up too be the ultimate atv since it's not available anymore......sorry ladies....it's not what you think..and have heard. I could sure use a clean one though.......Later!!

 

I would say go with the banshee,it be too much of a hassle to try to find a nice clean r!

I would go with the banshee simply because you can still go down to your Yamaha dealer and pick up a brand new one.

I am not sure why I didn't get one in May of 2001. I had been brainwashed or read to many good things on the Raptor so theres the point don't believe every thing you read.

I dont think theres eny point in asking if the r has better suspension, because you probobly wont find one with the original suspension on....

 

Both are great bikes.
One thing though The R is cheaper to fix /build up.... unless you buy one alreay with the mods you want.
With the shee you need two of everything rods, two pistons, two sets of rings, 2 pipes etc. etc.

 

250rs are great, fast, plentiful, etc but I would get a banshee.. I was set on either a late model 250r atc or a new banshee (gee only about $6K price difference) and well i ended up getting a 03 banshee and have not looked back.. one of my riding buddies is hardcore 250r guy and after riding my banshee he says he wants one.. IMO the suspension on my banshee blows away any 250r that ive ridden.. i ride mostly dunes some hardpack desert, not really trails or mud or anything but I think my stock banshee suspension rides like a caddy, thats one of the reasons I chose the banshee... plus the banshee is faster, and one of the complaints my 250r friends have is that they are discontinuing parts for them. I dont have any experience with that but thats what Im told. anyways two cylinders is better than one right?? get the banshee. they sound & look better too! $0.02

I just hate it[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img] when I see the above post because it makes me want a banshee that much more.

I just bet it would be the perfect rock road speedster.
