Is there supposed to be a clicking sound comming from my engine?

Default Is there supposed to be a clicking sound comming from my engine?

Is there? It is on the exhaust side of the engine, and I just finished adjusting the valves. With a hotcams stage1, I adjusted the intake to .080, and exhaust to .010 Is this correct? It sounds like it is the exhaust valves.

You'r problem is that you said .080 intake and .010 exhaust. I hope you wrote it wrong cause the intake probibly should be .008. at .080 thats looser than the exhaust. not sure just checking

If the decompresser is out of time (it has a small dot that lines up with the 3 on the cam gear, all up and in line)it will make a clicking, ticking, sound simular to loose valves. I speak from experience!! lol[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

sucks to check cause you got to remove the valve cover

I took out my decompression release. Will the clicking valves hurt anything?

Personally, and so have many others. Noticed that after motor modifications that the Rap motor seems to sound like the valaves are clicking. I and many have checked, checked again and re-checked with no problems. It's just something you need to get used to with a moddd motor, more noise.
