Default ??? Regarding open airbox crank-case breather

I have been runing the open airbox now for geeze, gotta be getting close to 2 years now and have always used a small K&N filter for the crancase.

I was looking and working on the Rap last night and thought of something. After seeing a good amount of sand stuck to my small little K&N crankcase filter this is the question I came up with.
My question is, is there an Outwears available for this little filter and if not, what keeps sand and small crap from infultrating through the filter?

Anybody ever think about this and what did you do about it?

I'm now considering welding a nipple onto my Aluminum airbox so that the crankcase will use the BIG airfilter that's in the box itself.

Thanks,
Swy

I think I have seen where you can buy the OW material by the foot. If you know somebody that can sew they could make one for you pretty easily. I'll check on where I saw it if you want.

That would be much appreciated Ward.

What have you done to take the necessary precautions?

I can't imagine that everybody running an open airbox is just letting that little K&N sit there to be bombarded with contaminents, are they?

I couldn't find what I was looking for but try this. I'll keep looking but that will probably help.

Thanks Ward. Looks like the one on the bottom left hand corner, in the middle (orange wrap) will work great. Thanks again!

Sorry I found one more thinglast one.. If it doesn't take you right there go to the circle track racing and scroll down a little bit. There is a header titled "Crackcase Breathers"

Edit: almost at the bottom is what your looking for. 1.5" x 1.5" K&N breather.
