I hope its not set for 40:1 that doesent seem right unless they want you to buy new pistons ,rings, crank, head,???? ITS AIR COOLED WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD MIX 40;1????? sorry had a long day, but seriosly I took mine off my 2000 before it had 20 miles on it.I didnt even remove the gear just took the cover off and removed the pump, left the gear shaft inplace,ya it still spins but i havent had any problems with it. I heard that you can remove the kick starter and right case and pull a pin out that stops the gear from moving. and best of all its free. hope this helps. and if you want to keep riding mix at LEAST 25:1 with 92 octane and pj 1 octaine boost to keep it clean.

2000 blaster
fmf fatty w/powercore II spark arrestor
mikuni 35mm carb

Remove the plastic gear from the pump shaft that is inside the case. Leave the shaft in the hole, and bolt the pump back on to cover the shaft. (You are basically leaving the whole pump there, minus the drive gear) This way, you don't need to buy their block off plate.

The injector mixes at 20:1. That is a really rich ratio. I removed the gear from mine and run SuperM mixed 40:1.

Stock the blaster mixes 24:1 If you remove the injector you should mix 32:1
