nope i just use the stocker. most of those other things are just gimmicks - believe me- car biz 32 years now...
all the plug has to do is spark. thats it. stocker works fine for me.

To the effect that if you can face the plug correctly the flame front will/should travel better.
I have never done this and would not have a clue which way the plug should face in the Raptor with all the valves in the chamber.

I just use the stock plug myself.
I replace it every 20 hours when I adjust the valves since I'm in the neighborhood.
Most people I've asked has said the Splitfires are worthless, I guess the platimum (sp) plugs would be ok but they are made to last longer than regular plugs so I don't see an advantage to using them in an engine that has it's plugs replaced often.
On plug indexing, It's been proven that it makes a diffrence. If I remember right you want the open end of the ground strap pointing torwards the intake valve, so am I right in thinking you'd want it pointing at the center intake valve on the Raptor?

THEMOOSE,
What happens when you tighten it down and the plug is facing the wrong way? I guess I have never paided attention to plugs but are they all machined, the threads in the same position or is it the luck of the draw where the tip ends up.

BartlettRacing,
That's what makes these forums good. I can learn something new about everyday.
I have never heard of indexing shims and don't pay much attention to my plugs other than making sure its the correct plug and putting in a new one every season.
I guess, I should change it maybe twice during the season. When I take them out they always look Ok but I change the plug anyways.

Bartlettracing, would it be better to have it facing the center intake valve or as long as it's facing any of them it would work?

It seems to make sense that it should be towards the center intake so when the mixture comes in all three nothing will be in the way of the spark.
Airraptor that would be great if you could share that with us.
