Default Need help ASAP with hmf full system

Installing an HMF full system on my friends 03 raptor, we have the header pipes on and the intermediate pipe, but the muffler doesnt seem to fit right, the outlet of the intermediate pipe and the inlet for the muffler seem to the exact same size. Im not sure wether the muffler should go inside or outside the intermediate pipe. The muffler pipe is cut so it will expand or contract.. From looking at it, it looks like it goes inside the intermediate pipe but I am not sure. any help is appreciated!!!

I know it's not the same pipe but I have the full sparks X6 & the muffler pipe has slots in it & it went on the outside of the header pipe. It was a tight fit though.
It needs to be tight for a good seal.

They could have sent the wrong muffler, See if it fits on the stock header, They may have sent a slip on muffler by mistake.
Just a guess.

I was thinking maybe they sent the wrong one, I know the slits you are talking about this has the same thing. I am not sure I can expand them enough to go on the outside, they could fit on the inside but they would be bent in, that seems a little restrictive with the tangs going down in the exhaust so I think they must go on the oustide but not sure if I mess it up they will take it back,.

I got it in, the muffler actually goes in the inside of the intermediate pipe, just had to tweek the slotted portion just a hair then squeezed it in, fit like a glove after the first portion went in then the clamp goes over the top and you wrench that ALL the way down.

Just threw me off since they looked the same diameter when you size it up for the initial fitting.

It sounds like they sent you the slip on muffler that fits on the stock pipe which is smaller than the HMF mid pipe. Call HMF.

That just doesan't sound right to me, why would they put a restriction in the pipe?????
The edge being inside would cause a lot of turbulance.

Like Blueleader said Call & make sure that's how it's susposed to be.
